    The IABC 2012 World Conference will be held in the Sheraton Towers in downtown Chicago.

    This group rate is available beginning Wednesday 20 June and ending Thursday 28  June, based on availability.

    To receive the IABC group rate above, please make your reservation directly with the Sheraton no later than 25  May 2012, and mention “IABC World Conference.” Rooms are based on availability and may sell out before the cutoff date. A first night’s deposit is required to guarantee your reservation. The deposit is refundable if the room is cancelled more than 72 hours prior to arrival.

    Registered participants plus one accompanying person travelling to the event can qualify for a discount of up to 20%, depending on fare and class of travel booked.

    Discounts are offered on most published business and economy class fares, excluding website/internet fares, senior and youth fares, group fares and Round the World fares.

    The Conventions Plus Fare discount is not applicable to senior citizen fares and youth fares, agency discount, industry discount, web fares or bilateral or round the world fares. In the case of Singapore Airlines, the discount applies only to IATA fares. No discount will be granted for flights from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and from Singapore to India.

    All Conventions Plus fare discounts offered are valid for international travel on Participating Carriers only. Convention delegate and companion must travel together to and from the Event. The delegate must submit proof of attending the Event when making his/her reservation. Delegate tickets must be booked by calling a participating Star Alliance member carrier, or any travel agent.

    The Conventions Plus Fare is not applicable for travel to or from New Zealand and Japan. Special offers for travel to/from New Zealand and Japan are available.

     Travel to Chicago

    Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

    Chicago O’Hare International Airport is located 17 miles northwest of the Chicago Loop in the northwestern-most corner of the city of Chicago, Illinois, and near the Tristate Tollway (I-294) and I-I90. Motorists enter & exit via I-190, branching off I-90 (Kennedy Expwy.) leading to downtown Chicago. In terms of passenger count, O’Hare Airport is only trumped by Atlanta Airport within the United States. With seven runways and an estimated 64.4 million passengers a year, Chicago O’Hare International  is an important hub for United and American Airlines, and is served by a multitude of domestic and foreign airlines offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe.

    Access to airport:

    To get from O’Hare Airport to your destination you have the option of renting a car, taking a taxi or limo, a bus or the subway:
    1. Trains: (a) Subway trains from CTA ‘L’ Blue Line depart underground of Terminal 5, and Metra North Central’s commuter trains stop at the O’Hare Transfer station, which connects to the Airport Transit System by a shuttle bus. (b) the CTA Orange Line links directly into Chicago’s Loop with connections to all other lines in the loop. Other regional train and bus information may be obtained by going to the website for the Chicago Area Regional Transportation Authority.
    2. Buses: The Bus/Shuttle Center is on the ground level (Level 1 near elevator center 3) of the elevated parking garage. This center is the central pick-up facility for regional and hotel courtesy buses, airport rental car agencies and parking shuttles. It is easily accessible by pedestrian tunnels from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Some regional buses also pick up at Terminal 5.

    Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)

    Chicago Midway Airport MDW is the City of Chicago’s, as well as the State’s second-largest Airport (after O’Hare) and is becoming one of the fastest growing airports in North America. The Airport is readily accessible from Chicago’s center in less than 30 minutes via the Stevenson Expressway. It is located 10 miles from downtown Chicago, Illinois, and borders to the suburbs of Burbank & Clearing. The Stevenson Expressway (I-55) connects northeast to I-90/I-94, and southwest to I-294. between Interstates Hwys I-55. With five runways, and an estimated 17.2 million passengers a year, Chicago Midway Airport is served by many low-cost carriers, as well as by major domestic airlines, offering direct and connecting flights to many points in the U.S. and Canada, with connections around the world. Southwest is the dominant carrier at Midway.

    Access to airport:

    To get from the Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi or limo, or use:
    1. Midway is served by the L train.; you can board the Orange Line trains, which run to downtown Chicago and the Loop (total time 25 ins) in the terminal’ station, where you can also catch the CTA buses.
    2. Continental Airport Express (312-454-7800 or 800-654-7871) offers door-to-door service every 15 minutes to/from Midway and most city (about $19)and suburban neighborhoods from 6am-11:30pm. An information counter is located at Lower Level Arrivals door LL3. The pickup location is located outside door LL3, inside lane. Lift-equipped vehicles are available on request for those passengers with disabilities. Advanced notice is strongly suggested.
    3. Coach USA also operates hourly bus service to northwest Indiana.
    4. Omega Airport Shuttle (773-734-6600; press O) offers hourly service between O’Hare International and Midway Airports from 7 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Allow at least 1 hour for travel time. Schedules are located in information booths at each airport or on the Omega Web site. Pickup at Midway Airport is located at door LLDoor3. The one-way fare between O’Hare International and Midway Airport is about $16.
