Good Medicine – A Strengths-Based Approach to COVID-19 Communications For Indigenous Audiences
Cate has always enjoyed connecting with others and creating a sense of community. That focus on connection has grounded her work for the past seven years as the leader of harm reduction communications at the First Nations Health Authority. In this role, she has found that meaningful change can happen when we touch both hearts and minds – especially when communicating with Indigenous people about sensitive topics like substance use and mental health. Cate combines her passion for understanding her audience with her love of storytelling and strategy to create engaging and award-winning campaigns. She lives with her family in the mountains in Nelson, BC, which is located on the ancestral and unceded lands of the Sinixt Nation.
