Engaging Men in Gender Equity Initiatives: Communicating with Non-Traditional Stakeholders
Janae Crockett is a Manager in Grant Thornton’s Public Sector Risk, Compliance and Controls team. As a risk consultant, her experience includes assessing internal controls over financial reporting, conducting compliance reviews and testing internal controls for both financial processes and IT general computer controls for government agencies and sponsored entities. Janae has experience analyzing and reviewing policies, processes and procedures, identifying gaps, assessing risk levels, and developing remediation recommendations. She assists government agencies with preparing for external audits, reviewing service organization control reports, and mapping controls to ensure compliance with Federal requirements. Janae is the education chair for the Metro DC Black Professionals Business Resource Group and Access and Advocacy Tool lead for the Advisory Women program. Janae received her Bachelor of Finance degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she serves as a member of the Accounting and Financial Young Alumni Council and received her Master’s in International Management with a concentration in Financial Management from University of Maryland, Global Campus. To support her passions, Janae received a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate from the University of South Florida and Women’s Entrepreneurship Certification from Cornell University.
