Offsite visits — proceeds go to the IABC Foundation (NEW!)

Off-site visits happen on Tuesday, 5 June as part of the unconference portion of the World Conference event. These special visits offer a chance for attendees to experience local Montréal businesses and culture, including company visits, artistic adventures and some downright fun! Participating organizations include Ubisoft, PR Without Borders and National PR. We’ll also host a group brain puzzler experience with A/Maze.

Space is limited, cost of attendance is US$75 and proceeds support the IABC Foundation. Add off sites visits as you go through the registration process for the conference

Pre-conference events

Strategic Adviser Forum: Corporate Snakes and Ladders

Facilitated by industry leaders Stephen Welch and Casilda Malagon, this special new pre-conference session offers an immersive experience that will show what it takes to be at the top of your field as a strategic adviser. You’ll gain innovative ideas to build on your current skills and discover how to elevate your career to the next level. This session is included in a Sunday day pass and offered as an additional-fee event for others.

Gift of Communication

The Gift of Communication is a pre-conference event at the World Conference which is presented under the umbrella of the IABC Foundation. It provides an opportunity for communication professionals to contribute their expertise to help local charities. Learn more.

Registration confirmation

If you register online, you will receive an email confirmation immediately after completing your registration. If you mail or fax your registration, you will receive an email confirmation within two weeks, once payment has been processed. Please include your email address on the mailed or faxed form to complete your registration and to expedite receiving your registration confirmation. If you need an invoice, please request one by emailing us. Invoices will be sent to you by email. You will not be registered until payment is received in full.



Your IABC conference badge must be worn for admittance to all keynotes, sessions, the exhibit hal and non-ticketed events. Every person must have his/her own badge; sharing of badges is not permitted.


Corporate member

Corporate members will receive a 10 percent discount on World Conference registrations. You must belong to an active corporate (group) membership to qualify. Discounts cannot be combined.


Only full-time educators (faculty) and students who are IABC members can register at the educator/student rate (10 percent discount) for the Standard Conference package, which includes one Welcome Reception ticket and all general and break-out sessions, and excludes extra-fee events. For students, please go through the registration process and identify yourself as a student. For educators, please email a PDF copy of a valid full-time staff ID to to get your discount code.

Cancellation policy

You can cancel your registration online or by mail. If we receive your cancellation before 18 May 2018, you’ll receive a refund, less a 10 percent handling fee. Credit card payments must be refunded to the card originally used to pay the registration. If we receive your cancellation between 18 May 2018 and 3 June 2018, you’ll receive a credit, less a 20 percent handling fee, toward a future IABC headquarters-hosted conference. Registered attendees who cancel after 3 June 2018 or who do not attend will be charged the full registration fee with no refund or credit.

There are no refunds for special event tickets (additional Welcome Reception tickets and Excellence Gala tickets) and/or pre-conference events.


If you’re unable to attend the conference after registering, you may send someone in your place. Substitutions may be made before 18 May 2018, with written confirmation from the person registered. If you are an IABC member and your replacement is a non-member, that person must pay any outstanding balance as a result of the difference in fees.
